What's Included

The Process

1

Inspect the lenses

Josh checks the condition of both headlights, assessing the depth of oxidation and any surface scratches. This tells us exactly what level of correction is needed before we touch anything.

2

Wet sand the oxidation away

We work through progressively finer wet sandpaper grits to strip back the damaged outer layer of the lens. This is what removes the deep yellowing and haze that washing alone will never fix.

3

Machine polish to restore clarity

A cutting compound and polishing machine brings the lens back to clear. This step removes the sanding marks and restores the optical quality of the plastic.

4

Apply UV sealant

A UV-resistant coating goes over both lenses to protect the restored surface from the sun and slow down future oxidation. Without this step, the haze comes back fast.

5

Final inspection

We wipe everything down, check the result in natural light, and show you the before and after side by side. The difference is usually obvious.

Is This Right For You?

This service is ideal for anyone driving a ute, SUV, or sedan in Hobart where the headlights have gone cloudy, yellow, or dull over time. If your lights look foggy at night or you want to sort it out before a roadworthy inspection, this is the fix.

Common Questions About Headlight Restoration

Most jobs take between 45 minutes and 90 minutes for both headlights. It depends on how bad the oxidation is, but we get it done in one visit at your driveway.
They can over time if left unprotected, which is why we apply a UV sealant at the end of every job. With that coating in place and basic maintenance, the results typically last 12 to 24 months or more.
For most vehicles, restoration costs a fraction of what new headlight assemblies do, and the result is the same optical clarity. Replacement makes sense if the lens is cracked or physically broken, but oxidation and yellowing are fully restorable.
You just need to give us access to the vehicle. We bring everything we need and work in your driveway, so you do not need to supervise or stay nearby the whole time.
Yes. Cloudy or heavily oxidised headlights can reduce light output enough to fail a roadworthy check. Restoring them to clear improves both the inspection result and your actual visibility at night.
